Saucerman, 24, returns to the Stingrays after joining the club late in the 2015-16 regular season and playing a key part of the club's run to the Eastern Conference Finals. Saucerman was signed by the Stingrays in April after a four-year NCAA career at Northeastern University. He made an immediate impact with the Stingrays, scoring a goal in his pro debut on April 2. He finished with four points (one goal, three assists) in four regular season games. In the playoffs, Saucerman skated in 15 games, notching eight points (two goals, six assists).
Prior to joining South Carolina, Saucerman helped lead Northeastern to a Hockey East Championship and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. He was named to the Hockey East All-Tournament team and finished the season with 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 40 games from the blue line. The 5-foot-9, 191-pound defenseman collected 64 points (20 goals, 44 assists) in 140 collegiate games.
Prior to his time in the NCAA, the Colorado Springs, Colorado native played three seasons of junior hockey with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), and the Des Moines Buccaneers, Dubuque Fighting Saints and Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League (USHL). He had 54 points in 126 junior hockey games.
