The 28-year-old forward is in his fourth season of professional hockey. He has consistently been an impact player on and off the ice. He spent the past two seasons with the Springfield Falcons in the AHL, scoring 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 44 games during 2015-16 and 14 points (10 goals, four assists) in 43 games in 2014-15. He also played for the Reading Royals tallying 27 goals and 19 assists. At the conclusion of his 2015-16 season, Monardo was named the Falcons’ recipient of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Springfield community.
A four-year standout at Lake Superior State University from 2009-2013, the Oakville, Ont. Native finished his collegiate career with 101 points (49 goals and 52 assists) in 153 games. During his senior season, he led the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in overall and goals. Aside from leading the CCHA in statistical categories, the conference named him the Terry Flanagan Memorial Award winner, given to an upperclassman who overcame personal adversity and was active on the campus and surrounding community.
