Margonari is entering his second full season with the Stingrays. He appeared in 32 games for South Carolina during his rookie year, scoring 17 points on 11 goals and six assists.

He played collegiately for four years with the Minnesota State Mavericks in the WCHA from 2012-16. The 25-year-old registered 66 points (38 goals, 28 assists) in 143 total collegiate games. He was also selected as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete and earned All-Academic Team honors in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

Before MSU, the forward from Greensburg, Pa. spent three seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the Youngstown Phantoms, where he accumulated 59 points (32 goals, 27 assists) in 133 games.
