Archambault looks to play a key role in the Stingrays' offensive attack this season. The talented forward has scored at over a point per game pace in his two seasons in the ECHL while on loan from Iowa of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Montreal, Quebec native led the Quad City Mallards in scoring last season, collecting 52 points (22 goals, 30 assists) in 50 contests. During the 2015-16 season, Archambault earned a six-game call-up to Iowa, and also appeared in four playoff games with the Mallards, notching three points.
During his rookie season in 2014-15, Archambault skated with the Alaska Aces, tallying an impressive 38 points (20 goals, 18 assists) in just 38 games. He was named to the ECHL All-Star Game in Orlando, Florida in January 2015 and tallied a pair of goals in the contest. During the 2014-15 season, he also earned a call-up to Iowa where he scored nine points (four goals, five assists) in 24 games.
The forward was originally drafted by his hometown Montreal Canadiens in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft and skated in 10 games for the Canadiens' AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs, in 2013. He was the first overall pick in the 2009 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Draft by Val-d'Or, and finished his junior career with 231 points (100 goals, 131 assists) in 270 games with Val-d'Or, Drummondville, and Quebec.
