Leading Scorer Chad Painchaud Loaned to Norfolk of AHL; Goaltender Adam Morrison Recalled to Providence

North Charleston, S.C. The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that forward Chad Painchaud has been loaned to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL). In a separate transaction, goaltender Adam Morrison has been recalled to the team’s AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
 
Painchaud, 27, leads the Stingrays and is third overall in the ECHL with 24 points (9 goals, 15 assists) in 19 games this season. The Mississauga, Ontario, native stands fourth in the league in assists, fifth in power-play points (9) and first with 72 shots on goal. Currently in his eighth professional season, Painchaud has 300 points (127 goals, 173 assists) in 322 ECHL contests with Gwinnett, Bakersfield, Victoria, Reading, Chicago and South Carolina and saw 40 games of AHL action with the Chicago Wolves, Iowa Chops and Manitoba Moose picking up nine points (4 goals, 5 assists). Last season he guided the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League to the Ray Miron Presidents’ Cup Finals with 20 goals and 36 assists for 56 points in 40 regular-season contests and 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists) in 15 playoff games before falling to Allen in Game 7.
 
Morrision, 22, posted a 2-0-0 record in two games with the Stingrays this season with a 3.36 goals-against average and .883 save percentage. Early last season, the White Rock, British Columbia, product battled in 10 games with the Stingrays going 1-6-2 with a 4.07 goals-against average and .877 save percentage. Morrison also dressed in 14 games with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL) acquiring a 6-6-2 standing with a 3.46 goals-against average and .903 save percentage.
 
The Stingrays continue a six-game road trip Friday, December 6 against the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:30 p.m. at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida and return to the Coliseum on Saturday, December 14 to take on the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. on College Night and Teddy Bear Toss benefiting Debi’s Kids.
