NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.- The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), completed a trade today with the Missouri Mavericks, as announced by Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery. The Stingrays have acquired the ECHL rights to forward David Pacan in exchange for the ECHL rights to defenseman Lee Moffie.

Pacan, 24, has played three seasons in the ECHL, skating with the Cincinnati Cyclones and the Kalamazoo Wings. He enjoyed a strong first pro season with the Cyclones, posting 52 points in 57 games, and was named to the 2012-2013 ECHL All-Rookie Team. After moving to Kalamazoo in 2013-2014, Pacan returned to Cincinnati last season. With the Cyclones in 2014-2015, Pacan scored 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists) in 62 games. He also appeared in eight games for the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL), scoring one goal.

The 6-foot-3, 218-pound Pacan was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Draft. Missouri acquired his rights from Cincinnati earlier this summer to complete a previous trade.

Moffie, 25, notched 26 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 42 games last year with South Carolina. He also appeared in 21 playoff games, recording five assists.
