Teddy Bear Toss Added To Kids Takeover NightNov 6, 2017
The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, have announced a change to its promotional schedule for next month. The annual Teddy Bear Toss, originally scheduled for Dec. 2, will now take place during Kids Takeover Night on Dec. 9.
The Teddy Bear Toss presented by CRAFT Flight Training and Simulation invites fans to bring new teddy bears to the game which will then be tossed on the North Charleston Coliseum ice after the Stingrays score their first goal.
Last season a total of 6,348 teddy bears were donated to give children in need stuffed animals for the holidays. The donation more than doubled the 3,077 bears that were collected during the 2015 promotion.
Kids Takeover Night presented by McDonald’s will also include a pillowcase giveaway for the first 1,000 kids through the doors at the game age 12-and-under. Other scheduled ‘kids takeover’ events taking place that evening include the Charleston Jr. Stingrays skating out during the starting lineup, national anthem singer, intermission contests and a postgame jersey auction benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charleston.
South Carolina hosts the Reading Royals on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, with each game beginning at 7:05 p.m. Both games feature a Stingrays Happy Hour with $2 beers from 6-8 p.m.
2017-18 Season Ticket Packages are on sale now featuring discounted pricing and great benefits! The club’s 6-Game Plan features tickets to all the biggest games plus added benefits! For more information, fans may call the Stingrays' office at 843-744-2248 or visit StingraysHockey.com.
