The South Carolina Stingrays return home to continue their first round playoff matchup with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs this week, trailing two games to none in the best-of-7 series. The Stingrays dropped the first two contests in the series in Greenville at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena but will look to even things up when they host Monday and Tuesday games at the North Charleston Coliseum.

This is the first ever postseason series between South Carolina and Greenville. The clubs have met 102 times in their history during the regular season, with the Rays holding a 54-30-8-10 all-time record. This year, South Carolina went 9-2-3 vs. the Swamp Rabbits before playoff action began. Games 3 and 4 in North Charleston both begin at 7:05 p.m.

DEVIN PERFORMING IN THE POSTSEASON
Captain Joe Devin is currently on a seven-game point scoring streak and has been on the scoresheet in 10 of his last 12 games since returning to the team after a stint in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters. He has six goals and six assists since coming back to South Carolina and finished the regular season with 33 points (16 goals, 17 assists) in 48 games.

EPP RECORDS MULTI-POINT PERFORMANCE TO BEGIN POSTSEASON
Defenseman Wade Epp had two assists in South Carolina’s Game 1 loss to Greenville on Thursday night, posting helpers on goals by Patrick Gaul and Kelly Zajac. Epp had just two multi-point games during the regular season, his third year with the Stingrays. He finished the season with 13 points on two goals and 11 assists while playing in 66 games on the back end. The blueliner’s penalty killing abilities have been a big reason why South Carolina ended the regular season ranked third in the ECHL with an 84.9% success rate.

KEEP SHOOTING
Although they haven’t gotten the results they’ve wanted so far this postseason, the Stingrays have continued their trend of outshooting opponents, posting a combined 77-56 advantage in shots on net through the first two games of the series against Greenville. During the regular season, South Carolina averaged 30.15 shots per game, while allowing just 27.53, which was the lowest mark in the ECHL.
