North Charleston, S.C. – After three seasons, the South Carolina Stingrays and the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL) have parted ways as affiliates with the Bruins’ announcement of a partnership with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL earlier today.
“We enjoyed working with General Manager Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins organization over the last three seasons,” said Stingrays President Rob Concannon. “It was a great learning experience to work closely with them on a daily basis.”
Since the start of the 2012-13 season, the Stingrays saw Bruins prospects such as defenseman Tommy Cross, forward Tyler Randell and goaltender Adam Morrison wear the red, white and navy and watched players like forwards Wayne Simpson and Andrew Cherniwchan earn opportunities in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Providence Bruins.
