Stingrays Ready For 2017-18 With Season-Opening Roster

The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, have announced their season-opening roster Thursday in advance of the 2017-18 regular season.

To finalize the roster, South Carolina has agreed to terms with goaltenders Carmine Guerriero and Jeff Jakitis on standard professional contracts and released goaltender Daniel Spence from a tryout agreement.

The Rays’ roster consists of 11 returning members from the 2017-18 season and five rookies. Four players are on AHL contracts with Hershey, while forward Tim McGauley is the lone member of the squad on an NHL contract with the Capitals.

Fans and media are invited to attend Wingin’ It With Warsofsky, the official Coach’s Show of the South Carolina Stingrays on Monday, Oct. 16 at Wild Wing Cafe in North Charleston at 7 p.m. The entire roster will be in attendance to meet with fans and sign autographs. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to score a seat near the stage and may enter to win great prizes.

South Carolina opens its 25th anniversary season at the North Charleston Coliseum on Oct. 20 against Greenville at 7:05 p.m.
