The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, have announced multiple transactions Wednesday. Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Ryan Warsofsky announced the signing of defenseman Nick Neville and goaltender Carmine Guerriero to standard professional contracts, while forward Johnny McInnis has been released.

Neville returns to South Carolina after playing in 18 games for the Stingrays during his rookie season a year ago. The blueliner had two assists while playing a versatile role for most of the season. Neville finished up his first professional season with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League, posting four points (one goal, three assists) in seven games before adding an assist in seven postseason contests.

This season the Bloomfield Hills, Mich. native has four assists while appearing in 10 games with the Rivermen. Before turning pro, Neville played three years at the University of Denver, skating in 52 games and scoring six points (two goals, four assists) to go along with a +5 rating.

Guerriero began his season with the Stingrays this year after agreeing to a contract on July 28. A native of Montreal, Que., Guerriero started against the Atlanta Gladiators in a preseason contest Oct. 6 and made 26 saves.

The netminder is in his rookie year after recently completing his collegiate career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, where the 6-foot, 174-pound goalie started 72 games during four seasons from 2013-17.

McInnis appeared in seven games and scored two goals for the Stingrays this season after being announced as future considerations from a March trade with the Reading Royals.

South Carolina is headed to Atlanta for a Thanksgiving Day matchup with the Gladiators on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum on to host the Orlando Solar Bears on Dec. 2 at 7:05 p.m.
