ORLANDO, F.L.-For the second time in a week, David Pacan impressed for the South Carolina Stingrays at the Amway Center. The forward's two shorthanded goals led the Stingrays to a 3-0 victory over the Orlando Solar Bears on Monday. The victory was the fourth straight for South Carolina, and helped the Stingrays sweep a three-game set against the Solar Bears over the last week. Goaltender Mark Dekanich earned his second shutout of the season, stopping all 22 Orlando shots fired his way.

Pacan, who notched a hat trick last Tuesday in Orlando, broke the ice at 11:05 of the opening period with his fourth goal of the season. Midway through a penalty kill, Stingrays defenseman Wade Epp chipped the puck high into the air. It was mishandled in neutral ice by an Orlando defender and Andrew Rowe scooped up the loose puck. He skated in on a two-on-one with Pacan, and fired a pass backdoor to Pacan. The forward redirected the puck past Orlando goaltender Rob Madore's left pad to make it 1-0 Stingrays.

Just over seven minutes later, the Solar Bears made another mistake while on the power play. An errant pass through neutral ice was intercepted by Pacan and the forwarded darted forward on a breakaway. He snapped a shot off the left post and past the glove of Madore to make it 2-0 South Carolina at 18:21.

Orlando would struggle generating offense in the third period, and South Carolina took advantage by adding to its lead. Brett Cameron scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season at 4:18. Bobby Shea launched a wrist shot from the center of the blue line toward's Madore. Cameron redirected the puck past the goaltender to make it 3-0 South Carolina.

South Carolina's Dekanich made his best save in the closing minutes, making an impressive glove save on a slap shot from the point to preserve the shutout and earn his fourth win of the season.

The victory improved the Stingrays record to 11-0-0 when they lead after two periods of play. They outshot Orlando 27-22 on the evening.
