Milner Reassigned To StingraysFeb 28, 2017
The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Washington Capitals and American Hockey League's Hershey Bears, have announced Tuesday that goaltender Parker Milner has been reassigned to the club by Hershey. Milner is expected to join the team in time for this week's three-game series in Colorado against the Eagles.
The netminder has been in Hershey since Feb. 3 and has played in a total of five AHL games with the Bears this season, going 3-2-0 with a goals against average of 2.84 and a save percentage at 0.913.
Milner had previously anchored the Stingrays during a successful month of January and was among the ECHL league leaders in all goaltending categories at the time of his recall. Through 29 games played this season with South Carolina, Milner is 17-10-1 with a 2.53 goals against average and a save percentage of 0.905.
During the 2015-16 season, Milner split his time between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) and the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL). The 26-year-old played in six AHL games with Bridgeport, while appearing in 26 contests for Missouri with a goals against of 2.17 and a save percentage at 0.925.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Milner played at Boston College from 2009-13 and helped lead the Eagles to three Hockey East titles and two NCAA Championships. He was named the MVP of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
South Carolina begins their three-game series in Colorado on Wednesday night at 9:05 p.m., with games following on Friday and Saturday. The Stingrays return home on Saturday, March 11 to face the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.
