Gustafsson Rejoins HersheyDec 23, 2017
The Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL) announced Saturday that forward Hampus Gustafsson has been re-assigned to the AHL's Hershey Bears from the South Carolina Stingrays. The rookie forward played in a total of five games during his time with South Carolina after joining the team in Florida on Dec. 12.
Gustafsson, 24, has played in 14 games with Hershey this year, collecting two assists.
A native of Ljungby, Sweden, Gustafsson also played in 10 games with Hershey at the end of the 2016-17 season after signing with the Capitals upon finishing a 4-year career at Merrimack College. During his late-year stint, he also had two assists as well as a +4 rating.
The Stingrays return to action Saturday night in Greenville with a battle against the Swamp Rabbits. Game time is at 7 p.m.
