NORTH CHARLESTON, SC- The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced that forward Austin Fyten has been returned to South Carolina after appearing in a pair of games with the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
Fyten, 24, played in six games this season for the Stingrays, scoring three points (one goal, two assists) before being recalled to Hershey on October 30.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Fyten was assigned to the Stingrays by Hershey in September. He spent all of last season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms where he amassed 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 64 games. He has played in 122 AHL games in his career with Lehigh Valley, Texas and Oklahoma City.
The Stingrays are back in action this Friday and Saturday at the North Charleston Coliseum against Orlando. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
