Forward Margonari Joins Stingrays

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC-The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that they have signed forward Dylan Margonari to an amateur tryout agreement, pending league approval, under emergency conditions. He will join the Stingrays in Wheeling ahead of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight. He will wear #26 for the club. 

The Greensburg, Pennsylvania native was signed to an amateur tryout agreement out of Minnesota State University-Mankato by South Carolina's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hershey Bears, on April 6. He made his professional debut on April 16, and appeared in two games with the Bears during the regular season. 
 
Margonari, 24, played four years of collegiate hockey at Minnesota State University-Mankato (WCHA). During his senior season this year, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward scored 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 30 contests with the Mavericks. He was a WCHA Scholar-Athlete and for the third time in his NCAA career, was named to the All-Academic Team. 
 
In 143 collegiate games, Margonari collected 66 points (38 goals, 28 assists). He helped lead Minnesota State to conference titles in 2014 and 2015. He enjoyed a standout season in the 2014-15 campaign in which he notched 18 points (14 goals, four assists) in 30 games. 
 
Margonari played three years of junior hockey with the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League (USHL) from 2009-12. He was an alternate captain in his final season in 2011-12, and finished with 59 points (32 goals, 27 assists) in 133 games. 
 
Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals is tonight in Wheeling. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m. at the WesBanco Arena with the Nailers leading the series, 2-1. Fans are encouraged to head to King Street Grille-Northwoods for the Watch Party.
